Vevo adds Warner Music and loads more tracks

A landmark deal has seen an agreement being made between the video streaming service and Warner Music Group, bringing a huge amount of new talent to the roster. That's great news for anyone using the service, which set itself up as a rival to YouTube and recently spun out into its own site and app.

"Today marks an important milestone for Vevo as we forge a new relationship with Warner Music Group based on a shared vision of putting artists first and creating a platform that does justice to the music," Erik Huggers, Vevo's CEO, said.

Vevo has big plans for the future of their brand, with a more social element recently introduced that lets you set up a profile and curate lists of music. It's also understood that a subscription version of Vevo is on the way, which could well mean that the days of free and easy browsing through their catalogue will soon be at an end.
