Suicide Squad sequel already set
Looks pretty good, right? Well Warner Bros seems to agree, with word that they're already planning a sequel with star Will Smith and director David Ayer to return. This comes from TheWrap's post about Ayer's next movie - Bright - which reunites the star and filmmaker and mentions that they hope to film the smaller-scale film before Warners wants them back in play for more Suicide Squad in 2017.
That's all well and good but doesn't amount to actual confirmation, though it does suggest that what they've seen so far makes Warners very confident. Taken another way, it just means that the studio is keen to lock in the schedules of in demand folks like Ayer and Smith - they might not make the film if the first one is a bomb but they surely don't want to be stuck in begotiations at a later stage.
Still it does make the upcoming DC slate even juicier, presuming that this second film would arrive by 2018, alongside The Flash and Aquaman.
