Better GoPro mobile editing apps incoming
GoPro has been having some trouble lately, with the action camera makers suffering from declining profits and killing off several of their product lines. But they're looking to the future and aiming to improve the service, including tackling the issue of mobile video editing.
To that end, GoPro has snapped up two companies with ties to the mobile editing world - Stupeflix and Vemory. Together they've brought innovation to the emerging field of creating interesting and engaging video content on a tiny mobile phone screen. Both companies will continue to work on their own products but they're likely to be rebranded with the GoPro name in the future, with Android releases also on the way.
Beyond that, GoPro will be using all of its assets to expand its own mobile editing lineup to allow people to create professional looking results while on the move. Mobile video editing is never easy thanks to the finicky nature of the craft but the huge file size and unique codecs of GoPro make it an even bigger challenge. Hopefully the company will be able to move forward with a better solution and consolidate its product lines to stay at the top of the action camera market.
