Election videos for The Purge

We're fond of The Purge series around these parts - they're little horror efforts with a bit of a neat sci-fi angle and the two films to date have been great fun. For the third in the series, it's time for an Election Year.

The Purge 3 is going fairly political, as you can probably tell from this oh so subtle teaser video.

That's pretty cool, and probably a whole lot more familar if you're living in America as the real contenders for the US presidency start to draw near. The plot for the new film sees a senator played by Elizabeth Mitchell in the running for President as the night of the Purge arrives. This would be the perfect time for her opponents to take her out of the running for good, but not if her security chief (returning player Frank Grillo) has anything to say about it.

The Purge is arriving in prime summertime in the US on the 1st of July, it arrives in Ireland and the UK on the 15th of the month.
