Donnie Yen will kick ass in xXx 3

So remember when Vin Diesel's Xander Cage died in a short film setting up the sequel with Ice Cube? Yea let's forget all about that, because he's back baby.

The imaginatively titled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage is the latest franchise to get some Diesel magic in the hope of bringing it back to life. He's done it for Fast and Furious and (kinda) for Riddick, so let's see if he has anything left in the tank.

He's got plenty of help in that regard with a cast including folks like Deepika Padukone, Ruby Rose, Tony Jaa, Conor McGregor (yes really) and Toni Collette. Now there's another name to add to the list in the form of martial arts superstar Donnie Yen.

Yen is one of the most popular actors in Hong Kong, with a martial arts legacy stretching back to the early 80s. He's been less visible in these parts, probably because he's too busy producing, directing and choreographing a string of local hits. He's replacing Jet Li in the xXx sequel and will be making trouble for Xander Cage as lots of random extreme sports happen in super cool ways.

Oh and Samuel L. Jackson is totally back - of course he is!

xXx 3 is in cinemas in 2017.
