Apple is to part ways with Samsung on the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7S with Taiwanese chip maker, TSMC, taking sole responsibility of manufacturing.

Samsung won't be making the iPhone 7 processor

Samsung had been involved in manufacturing processors for every iPhone and iPad from their inception to the more recent iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

TSMC has been heavily involved in producing processors for Apple in recent years. It took charge of manufacturing the Apple A8 chip, while the iPad Air 2 featured the A8X which TSMC also made.
