VIDEO: The Martians huge hilarious gag reel

Golden Globe winner The Martian was a pretty entertaining film and it turns out being on the set was just as fun

Somewhat inexplicably, Ridley Scott's The Martian turned up in the comedy category at the 2016 Golden Globes, with Matt Damon picking up an award for Best Actor in a Comedy. For a pretty hard edged sci-fi/drama, that strikes us as pretty weird but at least the entertaining film got some recognition.

Maybe the Globes voters at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association were actually sent this gag reel instead of the full movie, at least that would go some way to explaining things. Check out the more than seven minutes of giggles below.

Needless to say, a lot of this is Damon saying stuff in his video diaries, and he seems like a lot of fun. The rest of the cast enjoys playing with the ridiculous trapping of making a space movie while venerable director Ridley Scott tries to keep everything in line.

The Martian is up for 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor and will be out on home video on the 8th of February 2016.
