Suicide Squad character icons are cool

We're sure Batman v Superman will be a heck of a spectacle but our money is on Suicide Squad to be the stand out DC flick of the year.

Mostly that's becuase it's going to present a different side of the superhero sphere, with a focus on villains including plenty of characters we've never seen on screen before. It also has an amazing cast including Jared Leto, Will Smith and Margot Robbie as well as an interesting director in the form of David Ayer, who helmed Fury and the excellent End of Watch.

The skewed view of the comic book world also looks set to be giving the filmmakers plenty of opportunity for a unique look and feel that's far removed from the gloss of Zack Snyder's Superman world. Case in point - check out these new character icons which introduce some zany art.

They look really interesting, with a glimpse at the characters of Diablo, Enchantress, Joker, Slipknot, Harley Quinn, Katana, Deadshot, Rick Flag, Killer Croc and Boomerang. They're baddies, in case you can't tell.

Suicide Squad is in cinemas in August 2016.
