New wearable tells you when you've had too much sun

Rather than waiting until traffic comes to a stop because of the colour of your skin, this new wearable from L’Oreal will let you know that it’s time to seek some shade.

L’Oreal has developed a skin sensor that monitors ultraviolet light exposure. The My UV Patch can detect changing skin tone colours when exposed to UV rays. All you have to do is take a picture of the patch and upload it to a mobile app that analyses the dye squares to determine how much UV exposure you’ve gotten.

The patch, according to L’Oreal, should be worn on the back of the hand for up to five days to ensure the most accurate readings.
