GAME TECH: Doom makes a comeback after 25 years
Well, maybe not gloom, but definitely Doom. After 25 years in limbo, one of gaming’s most iconic franchises will return to its roots for a modern reboot. Everything’s going to Hell in 2016, and we can’t wait.
It will be exciting to see if Doom, the great grandfather of mega-hits like Call of Duty and Destiny, can capture the attention of the military generation. These days, first-person shooters are all about gun scopes and accuracy, tactics and strategy, while Doom is mainly about watching demons explode into giblets. We prophesise that Doom will sell well, but not enough to please its publisher overlords.
