More to come from Destiny
Developers Bungie have been open about the fact that they have a five year plan for the game, which first launched in September 2014. After more than a year, several major new content packs have arrived, with the most recent, The Taken King, bringing sweeping changes to the game. And there's more on the way in 2016, with the company confirming they have a whiteboard full of stuff they want to implement over the next 12 months.
That includes "events, activities, content, and features designed to keep you happy, entertained, and rewarded throughout the year to come" as well as a new experience which will be "far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King." They're also planning on tweaking the overall world and the sandbox at the same time - which sounds like they'll be pretty busy from now on.
As for right now, Sparrow races have just been introduced - giving players something new to do with their in game transports. There's a whole Sparrow Racing League at the tower which runs until the 29th of December and you can be sure those events will be popular in the months to come as well. The 2.1.0 patch has changes to many weapons which you can read all about here - if that's what your into.
While Destiny may have started out slightly disappointing, it seems clear that the team is committed to making it better year on year with constant content updates to help build a thriving community. We're looking forward to seeing what it becomes in the months and years ahead.
