Room gets a run of Golden Globe nods
The film has been nominated in the categories of Best Actress in a Drama (for Brie Larson), Best Screenplay (for author Emma Donoghue) and Best Motion Picture Drama. That's a pretty amazing haul for a small film by an Irish director, and bodes well for its changes in the other awards shows due in the new year.
Director Abrahamson had this to say on the nomination: "I want to thank the HFPA for this incredible honor. For an independent film like Room to be nominated for Best Picture for the Golden Globes is an extraordinary vote of confidence and a tribute to the amazing work done by all the talented people involved in the production.
