PS2 games are now on PS4

More specifically, PlayStation 2 emulation has been opened up on the PS4, so you can now go back in time and use cutting edge hardware to push some really outdated sprites around the screen. The news is certainly welcome but its not as straightfoward as we might have hoped.

For one thing, owning the PS2 disks isn't going to help you as you won't be able to read them. That means having to buy the title all over again from Sony, even if you already paid them money for it a decade or more ago. That's pretty disappointing, especially given the fact that the Xbox One now reads Xbox 360 disks and also scans your digital purchases, something which also won't work with the PS2 emulation.
