Zack Snyder is stepping back into the superhero world with the ultimate mashup on screen - bringing two of the most iconic characters of all time together.

Here's the latest trailer for Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice.

Can we really not live in a world where any kind of surprise is left to our imaginations?

While anyone with a cursory knowledge of the comics would know that the fight wasn't the whole point of the story, couldn't they have been enemies for a little longer?

Now we not only get more info on a very shrill Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) but also find out pretty much every part of his nefarious plan, including a silly looking CG monster spawned from the dead flesh of Michael Shannon's Zod.

Did we have to see that it came from Zod? And while the reveal of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman is a good moment, its yet another cool scene which might have been nice to enjoy in cinemas for the first time.

We despair at the nature of modern film advertising, but at least it's looking like a pretty epic production.

Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice is in cinemas in March 2016.
