Spotify's top player is Drake - naturally

Over 75 million people listened to Spotify this year, but what are they most enjoying with their earholes?

Well the service has released some info on its most popular tracks and artists for 2015, and the name at the top won't be too much of a surprise - least of all to him.

The most streamed artist of 2015 is Drake. The ever-modest one notched up 1.8 billion streams sent out to the brains of 46 million users. He takes the top spot from 2014's winner Ed Sheeran.

Elsewhere on the list Rihanna managed to be the most streamed female artist with over a billion streams and the artist with the most streams in a single day with young felle Justin Bieber - clocking in 36 million streams on the 13th of November. Lot's of Bieber-ing that day.

The most popular song of the year on Spotify was Lean On (ft. MØ and DJ Snake) by Major Lazer and with 540 + million streams it's also the most popular track on the service of all time. The biggest album was The Weeknd – Beauty Behind The Madness, followed by Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late. And little ginger fella Ed Sheeran is now the most streamed artist of all time with more than 3 billion to date. That's pretty incredible.
