VIDEO: Watch the Apple Pencil get sharpened

Ever wondered what might happen if you stick an Apple Pencil into an industrial pencil sharpener? Well, rather than risking your own, you can just watch this video for the answer.

YouTuber TechRax is back to destroy more things, but this time it’s because subscribers asked him for this exact test.

The Apple Pencil fares better than many might have expected. The outer casing gets eaten away at, but otherwise the Pencil survives pretty much intact. Not content with its performance, TechRax tries jamming the tip in, but the Pencil weathers the storm.

The end of the Pencil also manages to hold up pretty well. It loses its cap, which then causes the sharpener to break, but aside from that it seems to be perfect.

We don’t know if the Pencil continues to work as Apple intended or if it scratches the iPad’s screen. TechRax didn’t continue with that portion of the experiment, possibly because he didn’t expect the Pencil itself to hold up so well.
