The Little Prince is an acclaimed 1943 novel by French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and it's coming to the big screen in a ravishing animated form.

Isn't that just gorgeous, especially the hand-crafted stop motion animation which tells the original story of The Little Prince. The framing narrative is perfectly natty CG animation and expands on the story of the novella, which has been adapted many times in film, TV, radio, anime and graphic novel forms.

The cast is also impressive, including Jeff Bridges as the Aviator and Rachel McAdams as the mother. Paul Rudd, Marion Cotillard, Benicio del Toro, Albert Brooks and Ricky Gervais also turn up and in case you were wondering that's James Franco as the voice of the Fox.

The film premiered at Cannes in May 2015 and has already seen a general release throughout Europe, with generally positive reviews. It's out in the US in March 2016 and doesn't have a confirmed Irish release date yet.
