So Activision Blizzard recently bought King Entertainment for $5.9 billion, which is probably pocket change from the company behind Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and a lot of other things we spend a whole heap of money on.

The deal will see the huge company moving more and more into the mobile space which King has dominated for years with titles like Candy Crush Saga - an utterly pointless game which forces you to lose at arbitrary moments to trick you into using real world money to progress. Not that we’re bitter or anything.

Activision Blizzard also recently set up their own studio and has projects like a Skylanders TV show and Call of Duty movie series in the works, so surely it’s only a matter of time before we get to see a blockbuster vision of Candy Crush on the big screen? That future is now.
