VIDEO 13 Hours trailer - Michael Bay does real life
Here's the latest trailer.
And it's a really great promo for the film. I'm a long time Bay apologist and there's no denying he can craft a film that's visceral and gorgeously gritty. And while he's been playing with robots for far too many years now he's still at his best when he steps a little closer to the real world, with 2013's Pain and Gain easily his best feature in many years.
This film is based on the book by Mitchell Zuckoff and is all about the noble sacrifice of American soldiers who put their lives on the line for civilians and it seems to be chiefly told through explosions, high contrast imagery and shouting. But the background true story is certainly an inspiring one and Bay has The Town author Chuck Hogan on board for the screenplay.
The most distracting thing about the trailer for me has to be the presence of John Krasinski, who certainly isn't known for his dramatic roles. Otherwise there's a decent cast of soldier looking types including James Badge Dale and Toby Stephens.
