Instagram creates curated videos
The latest service to get in on the curated content action is Instagram, which launched a 'Best Videos' feed specifically for Halloween. This surfaced as a video stream shown at the top of your feed and when clicked brought you into a long, looping series of videos with a scary or spooky theme.
Apparently the company was adding new and appropriate content for a full 24 hours over the Halloween holiday and users could even send in suggestions with the tag #IGHalloween. The result is like a better version of your own feed, all tied to the same theme but also with a strong element of user interaction.
This feature only appeared in the US and only for the 24 hours around Halloween. It's a certainty that it will be back, perhaps for a major sporting event or Thanksgiving, and hopefully it will roll out around the world at some point in the near future.
