Check it out.

If it feels like this movie has been a long time coming that's because it has - as it was originally supposed to release back in March and got pushed to a more prestigious date later in the year. That's likely as way of setting it up for more award season glory, maybe for some of the main performances?

It certainly has an impressive cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy, Tom Holland and more. It's interesting to see the framing story with Ben Whishaw playing Herman Melville - the man who would go on to write Moby Dick - and Brendan Gleeson as an old man recounting a terrifying tale.

You definitely shouldn't read the wiki for this one but we do know the cast had a hard time making the film, losing a huge amount of weight as the story progresses. And it's all (mostly) true, based on real events which took place in 1820 when an American whaling ship became lost at sea after an attack. This film is based on the book of the same name published in 2000 by Nathaniel Philbrick.

In the Heart of the Sea will be in cinemas on the 26th of December 2015.
