Titanfall making a return in 2016 – As a mobile game!
The 2016 title is expected to be released on iOS and Android, and is likely to adopt the freemium release model if comments by Respawn boss Vince Zampella are anything to go by.
He said that “Nexon’s unrivalled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences.” As well as that, the company is currently hiring a senior designer whose responsibilities include “Player vs Player (PVP) gameplay, social, guilds, scripting, multiplayer and economy.”
They must also look after “the design and balancing of mobile game free-to-play economy and systems such as level progression, rewards, crafting, gacha fusion, item costs, weapons, skill/powers effects.”
Zampella revealed that the upcoming titles will delve deeper into the world of Titanfall. “As we were creating the Titanfall universe we kind of realized how expansive it could be," he told Mashable.
“So you're gonna see characters that were just hinted at in the main fiction, you'll see them expanded on in these games. There'll be locations that you've visited before and there'll be new locations that have been teased at."
Respawn is also hard at work on a fully-fledged Titanfall sequel, but Zampella says we’ll hear more about that when the team is ready.
