Snapseed gets RAW photo editing
The 2.1 update to the Snapseed app on Android brings the ability to process RAW images right on your handset. RAW images are shots taken in a totally uncompressed format, like what you might get out of a DSLR camera. This gives you more latitude to tweak the values after you’ve taken the picture, regaining details that might be lost when it’s compressed down to a basic jpg format.
After the update you’ll be able to open DNG files and play with them to your heart’s content, right on your smartphone screen. Now bear in mind the demands of tweaking a huge photo might cause some slowdown, depending on your handset.
