Caroline Morahan will be a Disney queen in Once Upon a Time

You may not be aware but there’s an ABC show called Once Upon a Time which has been mining Disney’s vaults for some years now, bringing classic characters to live-action life for weekly shenanigans.

Now the latest characters are being drawn from Brave, including the parents of young Merida, King Fergus and Queen Elinor. You may remember Queen Elinor was turned into a bear and was played by Emma Thompson.

In live action, she’s just been cast by none other than Irish actress Caroline Morahan. She’s best known for RTE’s Off the Rails and recently appeared on stage in Dublin in She Stoops to Conquer. Her king will be played by Irish fella Glenn Keogh - it seems they just couldn’t find any Scottish folk to play these characters. Or maybe the Disney people think we Celts are all the same.

Young Merida is played by Amy Manson and she has been appearing in the current fifth season of the show. The whole family will be together in an upcoming double episode set to be broadcast on ABC in the States on November 15 2015.
