Datamining reveals familiar faces coming to Street Fighter V

Dataminers have dug into Street Fighter V’s files during the PC beta and found references to additional characters that may be added to the roster.

Looking through reams of code, these dataminers spotted Alex, Boxer (Balrog), Dhalsim (who is rumoured to be a part of the cast at launch), Guile, Ibuki, Juri, and Third Strike’s Urien. “FAN” and “NDK,” who may be R. Mika’s partner Nadeshiko, are also mentioned.

As pointed out in the Reddit thread where the screenshot was posted, the placeholder names for Street Fighter IV didn’t match their final incarnations.

It may be a possibility that these characters will simply appear as a background character or in a cutscene. However, animosf5, who posted the information, delved deeper into the figures stating that the mesh figure for these characters is comparable to, if not higher than, that of Ryu’s.

So it’s more likely that these characters will be a part of the roster at launch or later added as downloadable content.
