In cinemas October 30th

Spectre hits cinemas this week, which means there aren't too many other big releases. Luckily, there are still some interesting titles from last week.

After a bumper week last week, all is quiet at the box office. Aside from a little British spy adventure by the name of Spectre, that is. You may have heard of it. Not many films want to go toe-to-toe against James Bond's latest instalment, it seems.

If that doesn't take your fancy, or you have more than one cinema trip planned this week, there's a good mix of films showing. Ryan Reynolds' Mississippi Grind, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, and The Last Witch Hunter, among others, carry over from last week.

Daniel Craig is back for the 24th instalment of the epic Bond franchise. This time, 007's past comes back to haunt him, while there's a growing threat to the future of the double-o project. Can James Bond prove that he still has what it takes in a new age of digital espionage?

Christoph Waltz features as the mysterious Franz Oberhauser, while Sherlock's Andrew Scott provides some foil for Ralph Fiennes' M. Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw return as Moneypenny and Q, respectively, while Léa Seydoux is on hand as the not-quite-typical Bond girl.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension

If you like your Halloween-week movies to scare your socks off, the final part of the Paranormal Activity saga may be worth a look. Apparently, The Ghost Dimension is going to take us back through the story so far to reveal all its secrets. Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is also the first to be shown in 3D, so it will be interesting to see how it makes use of that.

The Last Witch Hunter

Vin Diesel has often said how he was a big Dungeons & Dragons fan growing up. The Last Witch Hunter is essentially an on-screen portrayal of a character that he created in his mind all those years ago. This adventure, packed with supernatural foes and special effects, will be a much more vivid telling of the story. The Last Witch Hunter also features Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie, Michael Caine and Elijah Wood.
