Samsung Galaxy S7 may offer best audio in a smartphone
According to these reports from MyDriver.com, via TechRadar, Samsung will utilise the SABRE 9018AQ2M chip from ESS Technology that should offer the best audio in a smartphone.
The chip supports formats like DSD, features a 32-bit mobile audio DAC, and has 129 dB signal to noise ratio. This all means that you should have a listening experience akin to listening to analogue, but while streaming audio over the internet.
If this is the case, it adds fuel to the fire that Samsung intends to buy Jay-Z's streaming service Tidal. This service prides itself on high-quality audio, so it would make sense for Samsung to be able to put its money where its mouth is, so to speak.
It was recently reported that Samsung is pushing up the launch of the Galaxy S7 to January. Expect to see plenty of reports coming from Korea in the near future.
