The Queen of Ireland: Interview with Rory O'Neill and Conor Horgan

It’s an entertaining and emotional documentary about the life of Rory O’Neill and his alter ego Panti Bliss, alongside the decades long struggle in Ireland for equal rights for gay people. As directed by Conor Horgan (One Hundred Mornings) it’s a wonderful snapshot of an historic moment in our nation’s history and absolutely esssential viewing.

Luckily, we got the chance to sit down with Horgan and O’Neill for a chat about the film. We talked about the five year journey to put it together and the incredible events which the film covers, as well as the challenge of keeping this emotional story constantly entertaining and engaging.
