Ratchet and Clank movie trailer is silly

Is the Ratchet and Clank franchise big and popular enough for people to care about a major animated movie?

We'll soon find out. Here's the first full trailer for the actual feature film which exists for some reason.

So... I guess the message they're going out with is 'quirky and self-aware?' Just what the kids want!

On the plus side, the animation is lovely, really capturing the look and feel of the games. But the games looked like a CG movie already so that's a bit complicated - are these graphics actually not that fancy when you consider they mostly look like a great-looking game from a few years ago?

Anyway, this is happening. Happily the original voice cast is back on board including James Arnold and David Kaye as senors Ratchet and Clank. And there are famous folks too - Sylvester Stallone is that big robot thing which doesn't speak in the trailer for some reason and Paul Giamatti, Rosario Dawson and John Goodman also pop up.

Hey, maybe it will be good!

Ratchet and Clank is in cinemas in April 2016.
