A lot of people played Star Wars Battlefront - no voice chat planned

Star Wars Battlefront is just coming off a major open beta and developers DICE and EA has spoken out about the experience.
A lot of people played Star Wars Battlefront - no voice chat planned

The main news is that in just a few short days the beta managed to log 9 million individual users. That's a lot of people who wanted to get their blasters ready and play around on Hoth as giant AT AT walkers stomped around and TIE Fighters tried not to crash. And it's a testament to the tech of the game that the servers (mostly) managed to hold under that kind of stress.

It helps that the beta was open, free and available on all three major platforms - Xbox One, PS4 and PC - and that the game modes cycled quickly to give everyone a taste of the action. This doesn't necessarily mean all of these people will buy into the full game, many would just have been curious and wanted some multiplayer action for the weekend. Though the reaction to the gameplay has mostly been positive.
