The Expendables back for more in 2017

Expendables never die, or at least that's the lesson to be learned from this curiously enduring action series.

The first film sounded like a joke when it arrived in cinemas way back in 2010 and the gag hasn't gotten funnier since. Take some old dudes who used to be in action films and force them to run very slowly into and out of danger, while you cut away to stunt people whenever possible.

Five years on we've had three films which have hardly set the world alight, though there was a comedic edge to 2014's third movie which I actually quite enjoyed. Now Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that a fourth film is in the works, planned for release in 2017.
