The Paranormal Activity series has only been around since 2009 but it's pretty much changed the face of horror - bringing in an era of found footage features to terrorise audiences around the world.

Now, the series is set to come to an end with the sixth entry - The Ghost Dimension. Here's the final trailer.

While the movies to date have had their ups and downs (2 is the pits), I've always quite enjoyed them. Apart from being pretty effectively creepy, the multiple entries have mostly done a good job of reinventing themselves, particularly the third film which went back to the 80s to give us an idea of where the activity was coming from.

That's another impressive part of the whole franchise, it really does feel like they've been building up the same story for several years now. And The Ghost Dimension is letting them explore that 80s timeline as well as a modern story, while also tying up loose ends and letting us 'see the activity' for the first time. That also comes with the series' first foray into 3D, so let's hope its full on, gimmicky and fun as hell.

Originally set to release in 2013, then 2014, the film will finally arrive this October. And I think it looks good.

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension is in cinemas from the 23rd of October 2015.
