Cyberpunk 2077 will be much bigger than The Witcher 3

CD Projekt Red is on a high after the successful and well received launch of The Witcher 3. But it has another title in the works, which it says is the biggest game that it’s ever made.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced in 2012, but the developer has kept details under wraps since. It revealed that it is larger in terms of scope than even The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Visual effects artist Jose Teixeira told MCV, “Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before. Far, far bigger.”

The developer’s experience with The Witcher 3 has helped the development of the sci-fi-themed RPG. Teixeira explained, “The Witcher helped Cyberpunk quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex that it really taught us.”

“If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it.”

But that’s about all that the developer was willing to share. Teixeira joked, “The name of the game is Cyberpunk 2077, and we usually say the release date is 2077.” Let’s hope not.
