Fury Road director says two more Mad Max films are planned
He told Top Gear that because of issues faced in production – they were rained out of Australia – they ended up with a couple of stories to tell. They were able to explore the characters, and even the backstory of the vehicles. How the steering wheels became religious artefacts and things like that,” he explained.
They ended up with two scripts, Miller revealed. He is now in talks with Warner Bros, but hasn’t decided which story will happen first.
At that, it could still be some time before Mad Max races onto screens again. Miller needs to make “a small film without special effects” before he delves back into the world of Mad Max. The eight month shoot in the heat and dust packed with stunts took its toll on him.
Two more Mad Max films are planned, but it’s unclear how soon we’ll head back to the Wasteland for more car-based carnage.
