Facebook will let you use a looping video as profile picture
What this means is that you’ll be able to use a short, looping video clip as your profile picture. Facebook says that this will let you “show a part of yourself you couldn’t before, and add a new dimension to your profile.” Those who remember some garish Bebo profiles may be less appreciative of this change.
Profile pictures, meanwhile, are also getting an overhaul. Facebook users will be able to set a temporary version of their profile picture that reverts back to normal at a specified time. Want to express support for a cause or simply celebrate a season for a certain length of time? You’ll be able to do just that.
Facebook profiles will soon feature a one-line bio field, up to five featured photos, and certain public About fields such as your education history and your workplace.
Finally, Facebook announced some changes for mobile profiles. Profile pictures are now centred on mobile, and have been made bigger so that people can take advantage of Facebook’s new creative tools.
These mobile features are being rolled out to some iPhone users in the UK and California before they’ll be released to a wider audience.
