VIDEO Irish audiences review The Martian

The Martian is in cinemas across Ireland now, and it's a big screen spectacle that's quite literally out of this world.

VIDEO Irish audiences review The Martian

The film is about an astronaut played by Matt Damon who gets left behind during the first manned mission to Mars. He has to use his skills as a botanist to try to survive when all hope of rescue is 140 million miles away. Directed by Ridley Scott, it's a thrilling sci-fi film with plenty of real-life science, courtesy of NASA and the original book written by Andy Weir.

Irish audiences got a chance to catch the film early at a special screening last week and you can hear what they thought in this review round up, which also features input from space commentator Leo Enright and author Kevin Nolan.
