Avengers Age of Ultron was a big budget Marvel movie that made a decent amount of money and showed off the popular characters again. But it was also a film that was totally trapped inside a slew of stories being told in other films which actually didn't have anything new to add itself, just churning out a basic bad guy and a ho hum finale until the credits could roll.
It was grand, like, but still less entertaining than every Marvel movie since Iron Man 2.
So those Honest Trailer guys have a lot of material to work in here.
I'm totally on board with every point here, especially when it comes to Joss Whedon. With every interview the Buffy and Firefly creator seemed more dejected and lifeless, It never seemed like a great idea for him to get involved with this kind of corporate entity but I just hope that his creativity hasn't been entirely sucked out of him, he's one of the best writers in the business and needs to get back to work soon. We miss you Joss!
Otherwise it was really just a mess of characters trying to get some screen time while Whedon tried to set up future entries and still bring a little of his own personality. And I feel that it's a testament to his skill that the film is watchable at all.
