Science Gallery will screen GTFO: The Movie in October

The Science Gallery in Dublin will host a screening of GTFO: The Movie on October 15th.

The film investigates the gaming industry, which it says is “riddled with discrimination and misogyny.” Over the course of the film, there are interviews with video game developers, journalists, fans, and academics, including Anita Sarkeesian, Maddy Myers, and Brenda Romero and many more.

It “paints a complex picture of the industry while revealing the systemic and human motivations behind acts of harassment.” And audiences hear about incidents of harassment and their effects from the people who had to experience them.

The film made its world premiere at SXSW Film Festival, was featured at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh, which included an insightful Q&A, and a clip from the film was used as part of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
