Huawei Snapys Awards coming October 28th

The Huawei Snapys are running right now - seeking out the best photos on Instagram with an eye on giving out some serious prizes.

Photos with the #huaweisnapys on Instagram and one of the categories are automatically in the running, and all you need to do is go to the official site and vote for your favourites. After that, a select number of photos will go forward to the final round, with judges including Darragh Doyle, Clisare and Roz Purcell whittling them down to the final winners which will be announced on the night of the awards.

And now we know when that glitzy event will be! The Huawei Snapys Awards will be handed out on Wednesday October 28th at 7pm in the historic surrounds of Dublin City Hall. The winners will be crowned on the night, walking away with a selection of great prizes including new phones and even grants to pursue their photography dream.

The categories include Food, Fashion, Sport & Leisure, Music & Entertainment, Arts & Culture, Career (Work & Education), Health & Beauty, Selfie, Family, Friends, Humour, Animals, Ireland, Global Photos, Night Time Photos, Instagram Video, Charity, Technology & Science, No Filter and Wild Card.

And it doesn't even have to be a new photo, just go to Instagram and ad #huaweisnapys to an old favourite to be in the running. And don't forget to include a category!
