Pebble has a new round smartwatch
The Pebble Time Round has just been revealed, and it's definitely a new look for the product. The Round is not only the lightest and thinnest Pebble but also the most lightweight smartwatch in the world. That's quite a claim but at just 7.5 mm thin and 28 grams, it sounds like they're going to be able to back up the claim.
The big new addition is that round watchface, which is not only quite different from previous Pebble's but also makes it much closer to a regular wristwatch, especially when you also consider just how slim it is. Somehow Pebble has managed to cram all of their existing tech into that space, so you'll have access to the full appstore and a battery which lasts for days.
The full specs of the Round haven't been revealed just yet, and we don't know exactly how the existing Timeline interface will be scaled to the new format, but you can be sure that there will be more information very soon.
Pebble also has a special offer for those who recently purchased a Pebble Time Steel, giving them the chance to also opt in for a Round and keep both for 30 days - letting them then decide which they'd like to keep for good. There's also a discount available on the Round for Steel backers - get more information here.
The Round is here, so check out a (slightly awkward) intro video featuring Pebble fellow Eric Migicovsky.
Pebble Time Round will retail for $249 and you can reserve yours now on the Pebble site, with shipping available worldwide. The new units will start shipping in November and will be in shops in North America and the UK by the end of the year.
