Personally, I don't know why they couldn't have just used the Rolling Stones' original version, which would have brought a little more energy to the piece.
That said, for some reason I'm totally sold on The Last Witch Hunter. The design of the world looks great, the creatures are suitably creepy (even if its all-but guaranteed to be a PG-13 flick) and it looks like a proper fantasy film - a genre which has been dying away these last few years.
The only real sticking point right now is very obvious - Vin Diesel. While he seems like a lovely man and utterly devoted to his family and army of fans he does have a habit of killing and kind of drama stone dead. And, for a major leading man, he's oddly lacking in charisma, especially in a role like this which is all about an aura of coolness.
Maybe this will be the film which wins me over, but I just can't help imagining what this would be like with someone with a bit more gravitas. Maybe Wesley Snipes though it might be a little too close to Blade. Even Thomas Jane, remember him? I suppose it could be worse, it could be Sam Worthingon...
