Minecraft Story Mode coming in October

Minecraft Story Mode is totally a real thing, and it coming out in October!

It's a collaboration between Telltale Games who made The Walking Dead game and Mojang, who made Minecraft. Together they've conjured up a look deep into the world of Minecraft to somehow make up a story.

So it's a pretty weird concept but we have faith in the Telltale folks to pull it off, especially after injecting some much inventive energy into the recent series of Borderlands adventures. Minecraft Story mode will arrive in five episodes between now and 2016, with a confirmed release date for Episode 1 of the 15th of October.

The first part will be called Order of the Stone and will see you start your quest as a male or female avatar - both are called Jesse for convenience. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse's friends discover that something is wrong... something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

There's some great voicework going on as well, including Patton Oswalt, Billy West, Ashley Johnson and Corey Feldman. Yes, the actual Corey Feldman. No he's not dead.

You can buy the episodes separately or as part of a season pass, which will save you a bit of cash.

Minecraft Story Mode Episode 1 The Order of the Stone will be available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and mobile devices starting on the 13th of October 2015.
