Project Morpheus has a new name!
It's hardly the most surprising or inventive name, but PlayStation has officially changed what they're calling the upcoming virtual reality headset. Project Morpheus was clearly always a placeholder and if you're going to bring a new device to market you may as well keep things simple. They have PlayStation TV, soon they'll have PlayStation VR.
The news came out of the Tokyo Game Show 2015, together with a new trailer reel with a collection of games and startled looking users.
PlayStation VR promises one to one shooting controls using the PlayStation Move controllers (don't throw them out!) and a range of games including mech action and a fun title for all the family. There's also a dating sim, which looks a bit creepy.
It's expected that PlayStation VR will launch by summer 2016, exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console. More as we get it.
