VIDEO: New Creed trailer - in the shadow of Apollo

We really weren't expecting much from a long belated spin off to the Rockey series. But Creed is looking like it's got the guts to get in the ring with the best of the genre.

Here's the new trailer.

It's obvious that this film isn't afraid to mine what's come before for drama, mostly by pitting Michael B Jordan's youngster against the shadow of his father legacy - which makes a lot of sense. But the aging Rocky has some lingering health issues as well, something which was left out of the first trailer. This might have something to do with the brain damage the character suffered in Rocky V - though that injury has gotten less serious as the movies have progressed. Because... well because of money obviously.

Jordon is a great central casting and he's reteaming with his Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler for what promises to be a unique take on the genre.

Creed is coming out in November 2015, and it will likely be expecting some Oscar buzz.
