Elite Dangerous gets an Xbox One release date

Elite Dangerous is a sprawling space-sim which launched on PC back in December 2014. Now console players are finally set to get a taste of the action.

Elite Dangerous gets an Xbox One release date

The game will arrive on the Xbox One on the 6th of October, according to info straight from David Braben - the CEO of developers Frontier. The title has actually been part of a preview programme on Xbox One for awhile now but this will be the first time it's officially and openly available for all players.

There was also news on an upcoming expansion to the PC version (which will also eventually make its way to Xbox One) in the form of Horizons. It's set to add a huge amount of extra content, including the ability to explore the billions of planets in the systems you can navigate to. You'll even be able to land on the surface and drive around.
