In Ireland, things really go bump in the night... at least according to the first full trailer for local horror The Hallow.

VIDEO Irish horror The Hallow is really creepy

This is freaky stuff.

If we're being totally honest there are a few too many shots of the nasty-looking creature in here, it spoils the tension a little bit, but otherwise this is looking like a really strong creature-feature. The film comes from American writer/director Corin Hardy who is making his feature debut with The Hallow and the film was shot in Ireland over six weeks in 2014. There's a mix of physical and CG effects in the picture, which was all shot on location with an eye on realism in the face of supernatural nasties.

Joseph Mawle and Bojana Novakovic lead the cast, with welcome support from Michaels Smiley and McElhatton - who pretty much has to be in your movie if you shot it in Ireland. Early reviews out of Sundance have been strong.

The Hallow will be in cinemas on the 13th of November 2015.
