VIDEO Irish Star Wars fans check out the new toy range in Dublin

It was a Stormtrooper-studded affair, with prizes on the night for the best costumes and one very lucky fellow won a brand new BB-8 remote controlled toy. This little guy is set to be one of the highlights of the upcoming film and the toy will be in high demand come Christmas time. He’s fully remote controlled using a fancy smartphone app and can nod his head and even patrol your house on his own and map your furniture so it doesn’t crash all the time.

It’s one of the best tie in toys we’ve seen in ages, and that’s just part of the range on offer. We’ll get old favourites like the Millenium Falcon and also plenty of attention for new characters like Rylo Ken plus heroes Rey and Finn. These new ranges are available at the Disney store and in toy stores nationwide now.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in cinemas on December 18th
