Terminator Genisys spent a lot of time toying with the events of 1984s The Terminator and this video shows how it was done

You are entitled to your opinion but we thought thought this summer’s Terminator Genisys was a lot of fun. There wasn’t nearly enough action but fudging the old storylines was enjoyable and it’s never a bad thing when Arnie is up there on the screen.

The film even offered up double the Arnie for your money, recreating the arrival of the T-800 in 1984s The Terminator with a delicious twist. This moment entailed two huge Terminators facing off against each other and that meant getting a body double for the former Mr Universe. Here’s how the shooting went down.

It’s kind of hilarious that they couldn’t find someone who was actually the same size as The Governator - they don’t make people that big anymore. The use of a CG double was mostly successful in the film, and it was interesting how director Alan Taylor tried to shoot the film to make it look like the original, complete with anamorphic lens flares and the grittiness of the cheap production.

Expect more behind the scenes stuff when Genisys comes to home video later this year.
