VIDEO Pay the Ghost trailer - Nicolas Cage's latest random movie

Nicolas Cage is pretty much a one man movie industry at this point, churning out movies at a furious rate. The latest is Pay the Ghost and here’s the first trailer.

On first blush, it looks like one of his better efforts in recent years - mostly because it doesn’t see him throwing out a performance solely composed of shouting and gurning. The plot comes from a short story by horror author Tim Lebbon and was set to come to screens under the direction of Dennis Iliadis - best known for helming the 2009 remake of The Hills Have Eyes. He passed on the project, leaving room for Uli Edel to take his place. He has worked extensively in TV on Twin Peaks and Oz and made The Baader Meinhof Complex in 2008.

Could this be that rare good Cage? Probably not if we’re honest - the rest of the cast is pretty lacklustre (though Laurie from The Walking Dead is there - Hi Sarah Wayne Callies!) and maybe the supernatural/investigative angle could be fun.

Pay the Ghost is in cinemas in the US in September 2015 and in Ireland and the UK in October.
