Sons of Anarchy spin off coming - all about the Mayans

Sons of Anarchy finally came to its conclusion in December 2014, bringing to an end the tale of seven turbulent years in the lives of a gang of motorcycle riding outlaws in California.

Sons of Anarchy spin off coming - all about the Mayans

Since then, creator, writer, director and actor Kurt Sutter has been talking about a possible prequel series which was designed to set up the action before by looking at ’The First 9.’

That story may well still be on the way but today’s news confirms another project - a spin off dealing with another gang.

Sutter has announced that he’s set to get to work on another show which will deal with the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

They played a big part in all seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy - coming in as major rivals to the group before eventually settling their differences.

It’s not know as yet if this will operate as a prequel to original show or if it will run concurrently, and Sutter hasn’t confirmed if any of the original cast will be joining in.

Partly that’s because any show dealing with the Mayans isn’t going to be arriving any time soon.

Sutter is deep in production on a period series called The Bastard Executioner which is shooting in Wales for a late 2015 release.

So he’s not going to have much time to even start writing anything new.

That means we could be waiting until 2017 for more from the Sons of Anarchy universe. More as we get it.
